Today, I attended the court hearing for the man arrested for the murder of Julian Mobley, the CTA worker, husband, and father who was stabbed to death last week.
It happened again. A violent offender free on electronic monitoring has committed another violent crime and is charged with murder.
This must stop. I am the only candidate in this race who has committed to taking on the SAFE-T Act, and I have the legislative experience to do it.
As Mayor, I will work with the General Assembly to amend the SAFE-T Act. Anyone who is accused of committing a violent crime should not be out on electronic monitoring.
I am also the only candidate in this race who has issued a comprehensive public transit plan. My plan centers on making the CTA safer for every rider and for every employee of the CTA.
