LIUNA Chicago Endorses Susana Mendoza for Mayor

CHICAGO, IL – Today, LIUNA Chicago Laborers’ District Council announced their endorsement of Susana Mendoza for mayor. LIUNA Chicago represents a diverse group of over 20,000 working men and women in the construction, municipal, and industrial sectors. The announcement comes as Mendoza continues to gain momentum in the race for mayor, having just released a new TV ad and an almost 40-page policy agenda highlighting her plans to put Chicago’s neighborhoods first.

“I am so thrilled to be endorsed by the working men and women of LIUNA Chicago,” said Susana Mendoza. “Throughout my career, I’ve been proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our working families, and that will continue when I’m mayor. With the support of LIUNA Chicago and working families across this great city, I’m confident we can stand up for workers’ rights, prepare the next generation of Chicagoans for the economy of tomorrow, and put our neighborhoods first.”

“The Chicago Laborers’ District Council is proud to announce our endorsement of Susana Mendoza for Mayor,” said Chicago Laborers’ District Council Business Manager James P. Connolly. “From her time as a state representative to City Clerk, Susana has demonstrated herself to be a fierce advocate for Laborers and working families. As State Comptroller, she stood up to Bruce Rauner – the biggest bully working people in Illinois have ever seen – and was victorious. We are confident that no one will work harder than her to protect us from opponents of Labor and to bring opportunities and prosperity to our members and all working families in this great city.”
